The start of the Watkins Trail is just past the village of Beddgelert .
Vehicle parking is next to an amazing cafe/restaurant serving home made fayre.
Walking upwards through a short forest section leads past the waterfalls that people usually take a dip in…seriously even in December.
Follow the path upwards to the summit….the last scramble is not for the feint hearted !
Take good note of weather forcast at summit.
Various trails exist to the very top at 1084 metres above sea level.
One favourite has to be the Watkins Trail that starts near Beddgelert .
Llanberis is another favourite …pretty long haul but straight forward.
Pen-y-pass is a mountain pass with a car park and visitor centre…excellent for the Miner’s path and the Pyg trail.

A night time walk up to catch the morning sunrise is pretty awesome….be sure to take a head torch !

The White Water Rafting Centre is based on the main Trawsfynydd to Bala road .
The Centre has a fabulous cafe /restaurant (typically home made fayre) with an extensive balcony overlooking the rafters making their way down the rapids.
Follow the trail on foot either up the wild river towards the dam or down to the finish point.
The dam is opened at secific times to flood the entire water path.
Vehicle parking is free to pay .
Spectacular.
Check the local dam opening times but the Cafe and walks are usually open .
